Since its kick-off in 2005, the Vertical Extreme has established itself as a top freeride event for skiers and snowboarders. In the Axamer Lizum, located in the heart of the Alps, we have found a perfect location for this freeride festival that is dedicated to all off-piste fans.
The Vertical Extreme consists of the freerideX competition where you can compete with top riders in breathtaking heats, the OnSnow Sessions for freeride know-how and fun, and the Party Sessions with hot dancing and celebrating.

An exciting mix between Cross and Big Mountain racing guarantees plenty of action and the ultimate kick off-piste. Both snowboarders and skiers compete in heats of eight riders each. The four fastest riders of each heat emerging from the elimination rounds advance to the next level. This process continues round after round until only the best eight remain.
